Graz is a wonderful medieval town of 230, 000 inhabitants located at the southern edge of the Austrian Alps. Graz boasts Europe's largest medieval down-town and is registered as a world heritage site. Last year Graz was "European Cultural Capital". See www. graztourism. at for more details and pictures.
Our house is a five minute drive by car or tram from the city center, yet is only a few minutes away from the countryside. You can walk to a large castle from our home, walk to a supermarket or take the tram for a few stops for a large selection of restaurants and shops down town. By the way, Arnold Schwarzenegger was born and grew up in Graz, near a lake a few minutes from our home.
