Our lovely home is on a hill overlooking the Tasman Sea with Kapiti Island in the foreground. It has great sunsets viewed from a large deck area. Ten minutes drive to the beach. We are gardeners and have a small orchard.An artistic community which has a small shopping centre w including cafes/restaurants. Has been mainly a retirement area but more recently the workers have been commuting to Wellington which is only about 60km away and can be reached by bus and train.
We are on the wooded Hemi Matenga Hill overlooking the town.There are walkways through native bush and plenty of birds.The beach area is good for swimming.To the North the rural area arrives immediately you leave town. Check out the country cafes, Lavender farm, Olive groves and antique shops.
